PERDUE, Bertha Board, of Roanoke, was welcomed into her eternal home on August 29, 2001, at the age of 106. She was born on July 22, 1895, the daughter of the late David and Lucy Vest Board. Her loving husband, Albert Taw Perdue, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are two sons, Alvis V. Perdue, and Ernest C. Perdue; also six brothers and one sister. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ellis E. and Helen Perdue of Roanoke, Carl L. and Mavis Perdue of Richmond, and Louise Ragland of Richmond; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and nine stepgrandchildren; a very devoted and caring friend, Shirley Brookman. She was a member of the Ninth Street Church of the Brethren for over 70 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2001, at Ninth Street Church of the Brethren with Pastor Patrick Starkey officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke chapel.
