Maurine Anne Bentley Hansen, 88, died peacefully at her home in Benson, Arizona on March 24, 2018 of natural causes. She had gracefully endured a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Maurine was born on March 23, 1930 to Joseph T. Bentley and Kathleen Bench in New York City, New York. Her early childhood included a time living in Mexico and later Utah. She was the oldest of 6 children and is survived by her brothers Joseph Bentley of Salt Lake City, Utah, Marion Bentley of Logan, Utah, and Kathe Bentley Maxfield of Sandy, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Bentley of Mesa, Arizona and sister Frances Bentley Hammond of Provo, Utah.

In 1947 Maurine married J Kimball Hansen, Sr. and they are parents of 8 children, 57 grandchildren and 86 great-grandchildren.
Maurine was Kimball's companion in adventure as they raised their family on Indian reservations in Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, and Arizona. She provided culture, education, and refinement for her children despite austere circumstances. Maurine cheerfully served her large family and was exemplary in her service to her church through numerous callings including many years as a Seminary teacher and Stake Relief Society President. She loved books, music, sewing, and family pets, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent writer, orator, and scriptorian, skills she employed in her teaching and leadership positions.

She and Kimball retired to the Benson area where they have lived since 1981 and they have forged many lasting friendships through their church and community involvement. Maurine was able to spend her difficult last years at home attended by her loving husband, children, and caring friends. She is survived by her husband, J Kimball Hansen, Sr. of Benson, and her children Katherine Hansen Johnson of Kaysville, UT, Susan Hansen Abbott of Orem UT, Janet Hansen Sorensen (Stephen) of Pittsford, NY, Christie Hansen Frandsen (Russell) of La Canada, CA, J Kimball Hansen, Jr. (Jan) of Thatcher, AZ, Meg Hansen Schneider (Joe) of Loveland, CO, Mark Hansen (Linda) of Midway UT, and Julianne Hansen Early (Michael) of Hinsdale, IL.
