Charlene A. Harris-Tiner, 88, of Savanna, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019, at her home in Savanna.
Viewing will be on Friday until 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 31, at 2 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Chapel with her son, the Rev. James Harris, officiating. A private family committal service will follow later.
Pallbearers are Chris Harris, Jeremy "Bubba" Harris, Brian Dugan, Trae Harris, Colton Harris, Zachary Pennington and Blake Cathey.
Charlene A. Harris-Tiner was born on April 29, 1931, in Seminole, to Jim Calvin and Nicie Jewell (Vaughn) Ross. She grew up in Bakersfield, Calififornia, and, in 1959, she moved to Stuart where she lived until 1975, when she moved into McAlester. She had lived in Savanna the past two years to be near her family.
She was married to L. C. "Sonny" Harris and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She later married J.B. Tiner, who also preceded her in death.
She was an active member of Pathway to Truth Church where she loved to sing good old church songs. She also liked to cook and spend time with her family, especially the grandkids, who she spoiled to no end.
Charlene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. James and Patty Harris, of Savanna; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and the Rev. Edmond "Buddy" Dugan, of Pryor; grandchildren, Chris and Brianna Harris, and their children, Trae, Blake, Lexi and Harley, Jeremy "Bubba" and Tina, and their children, Houston, Kortny, Colton, Shelby, Lexey and Regan, Brian and Shannon Dugan, and their children, Madison and Brooke, Laurie Pennington and her children, Zachary and Sydney, and Jeff and Bridget Jones, and their children, Jasper, Faith, Dawson and Jaxon; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Ross, of Bakersfield, California; a sister-in-law, Judy Harris; nieces, Joanie Combs and Diana Farmer; aunt, Rosa Lee Ross; cousins, Helen Medley, Claudine Clemmons and Loretta White; plus special grandchildren, LaQuita Dunn, Jennifer Nolan and Tammy Durbin, and special friends, Martha Dunn, Kelly Thompson and Debbie Ellis.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents, and a sister, Dorothy Ross.
