Christopher Franklin Land 1975 - 2019

With deepest sorrow, we announce that our son, Christopher Franklin Land, age 43, went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 after a long illness. Chris was born in Tampa, Florida on July 31, 1975. Growing up in Destin, Florida, he enjoyed many of his early years playing baseball in the Destin Little League. Chris loved fishing with his dear friend, Shane Gause, along with water skiing, boating and diving. Chris attended Fort Walton Beach High School and applied his deep love for music by playing trombone with the Fort Walton Beach High School Marching Band. He graduated with honors from Pensacola Junior College High School. Chris had many gifts and talents which he utilized into many occupations including employment as an insurance claim's adjuster for catastrophic storms, auto body refinishing, and auto body repair and restoration.
Chris will be missed every day by his Father, Frank Land, his Mother, Debbie Land Elliott, his Sister, Jessica Land, his Uncle, Sam Land, his two Aunts, Jennifer Borthwick and Mary Morris, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and his very close friend, Jill Hamilton. A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Chateau by the Sea clubhouse, located at 216 Angler Avenue, on Okaloosa Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. A private family service will be held at sea to scatter Chris's ashes on his beloved Gulf of Mexico. The family wishes to thank the loving care Chris received during his short stay at Covenant Care Hospice in Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola.
