Mrs. Mildred E. Skinner, 67, wife of H.L. Skinner, Lockesburg merchant, died at her home Saturday August 9. She had been in health for several years.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 11 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lockesburg Baptist church with the Rev. Stanley Jordan of the Hamburg Baptist church officiating, assisted by the Rev. W.T. Byrum of Lockesburg. Interment was in the Lockesburg cemetery under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
She was born January 21, 1880 in the Chapel Hill community near De Queen and was a member of the Baptist church , the Eastern Star and the Rebekahs.
Other survivors include a son, Earl of De Queen; a daughter, Mrs. Newell Blakely of Harlingen, Texas; five sister, Mrs. R.L. Green of Broken Bow, Okla., Mrs. Henry Reese of El Dorado, Mrs. Carl Pryor of Nashville, Mrs. Herbert Stephens of Blevins and Mrs. E.K. Edwards of De Queen, and two brothers, Van Alston of Bairoil, Wyo., and Reaves Alston of Tulsa, Okla. Active pall bearers were Arthr Bandy, Raymond Gallaher, R.T. Williams, Fred Clay, Jr., Rymon Wallace and Stuart Norwood.
