Donald Douglas Cross, 71, of McDonald, Tennessee passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2019.

Don was born on May 25, 1948 in Albany, Kentucky to the late James and Eva Cross. He was a graduate of Ooltewah High School and McKenzie College.

He was a Vietnam Veteran having served as Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Don later worked and retired from the US Postal Service.

Don was a faithful member of the Philippi Baptist Church and was also an ordained minister of the gospel. He was very active in the music ministry of the church. He taught the Fellowship Bible Class and Discipleship Training Class.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Wanda Powell Cross; sons, Stacy, Jimmy, and Jeremy; grandchildren, Tyler, Alicia, Daisy, Lillian, Dilan, Alissa, Joslyn, Raven, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jason and Brody and brothers, Warren, Lowell, and Paul.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Phillippi Baptist Church, 2484 Harrison Pike, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the church with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in Plowman Cemetery in Apison, Tennessee.
