Mr. Erwin attended Palo Duro High School where he met his wife of 58 years in biology class. He joined the Army at age 17 where he served in the Vietnam conflict. He retired, with numerous metals, after 20 years of honorable service to our great nation. Mr. Erwin, after returning home, served as a police officer at Texas Tech Health Science Center. He later attended Wayland Baptist College where he received his BS degree. Larry enjoyed writing and calligraphy, collector of movies (both old and new), was an animal lover, and outdoor enthusiast. His life was filled with love and laughter but most of all, his life was devoted to Christ. Larry was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served on several boards. He proudly held lifetime memberships with Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans, of which he was forever dedicated to.
Mr. Erwin is survived by his loving wife, Betty; sons, Larry Erwin Jr. and wife, Tammy, Michael Erwin and wife, Ramona, Douglas Erwin and wife, Kolina; daughter, Sandy Jacobs; sisters, Sharon Moore and husband, John, Kim Reeder and husband, Paul, and Kathy Meyer; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather, L.W. Inman; and mother Martha Inman.
