Roger C. Tipton, age 71, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 15, 2019 after many illnesses, service related.

Services for Roger will be at 2:30 PM Saturday, July 20 at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, TX with burial to follow at Mt. Marion Cemetery. Family and friends will gather starting at 2 pm before the service on Saturday.

Roger Charles Tipton was born March 19, 1948 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Roy Lee and Nellie Marie Moses Tipton.

He graduated from Haltom High School and attended college at Cisco Jr. College in Cisco.

After CJC he enlisted in the US Marines and served with honor during the Vietnam War.

On July 5, 1991 Roger married Miss Barbara Ann Obel and they made their home in Ft. Worth.

Roger was a man of many talents and started working as an Iron worker after the military. He then decided he needed something different and went to work for himself as a cable installer for the ever growing TV and media industry.

Roger loved life, enjoyed a good laugh and talking to people and loved to pick at family and friends. He was always friendly and out-going.

Roger loved baseball, especially Little League and had the opportunity to play in the 1960 Little League World Series; it was an experience he never forgot. He even had wall in his house dedicated to Little League World Series. When a young neighbor saw his wall, it inspired the young man to try harder and be the best he can be. This also ranked at the top of Roger's experiences list.

Roger is survived by his loving wife Barbara, daughters; Tami Bullard and husband Daryl of Kenosha, WI and Trisha Payne and husband Eric of Bentonville, AR, step-daughters; Monica Tipton, Ivy Lynn Oglesby and husband John of Granbury, Donna Lee Wray and Wendy Michelle Ward both of Ft. Worth, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one brother, Roy Lee Tipton, Jr and wife Pat and a sister, Judith Johnson.

The family request in lieu of flowers donation be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Roger's name at support.woundedwarriorproject.org
