He was retired from the Fort Smith Public School service center as carpenter foreman for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Olen and Neoma (Biggs) Bearden and one brother Tony Bearden.
He was married to his childhood sweetheart Linda Bearden for 57 years. He is survived by his wife Linda, one son SMSgt James Michael Bearden and his wife Shirley and one daughter Stephanie Lynn Bearden, grandchildren; Jessica Renee Womack and Vanessa Bearden-Willett, 2 greatgrandchildren and his brothers and sisters, Freeda, Bill, Kathy, Danny, Bobby and Phyllis.
Cremation under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith.
