James "Jim" McMahan, a former member of the DeKalb County School Board, was killed Sunday, July 14, 2019. He was 53.
McMahan was a member of the DeKalb County Board of Education from 2013 until last December. He decided not to seek re-election last year, making way for Allyson Gevertz to succeed him.
McMahan owned McMahan Mortgage, where he was a broker.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Oliver Keith McMahan. He is survived by his mother, Laura Anne Garrett McMahan; wife, Susan Patricia Kitchens McMahan; daughters, Madison McMahan and Nan McMahan; sister, Marcie (Paul) Doizé; nephew, Garrett Doizé; and niece, Connely Doizé.
