Shirley C. Capone, 95, of Scotch Plains, N.J., died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

The visitation will be at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains, on Friday, July 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 20, at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains. The Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery and Mausoleum, Colonia, N.J.

Shirley was born in Evanston, Wyo., lived in Portland, Ore., and settled in Scotch Plains in 1945. She was employed by the Township of Scotch Plains for 32 years, and served as a interim manager as needed throughout the years. Shirley also served as a Senior Citizen Housing Corp. secretary for more than 20 years.

Shirley was a member of the Mayflower Society of Wyoming, a Golden Agers of Scotch Plains, and the Senior Citizen Housing Corp.; a volunteer for Deborah Hospital, and a past member of the St. Bartholomew's Rosary Altar Society.

Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick J., in 1997; her daughter, Mary A. Miller, in 2006, and her granddaughter, Victoria Hassett. She is survived by her children, Kathleen McClellan (Don), and Janice L. Hassett; her brother, Robert Wilson; her caring grandchildren, Kristan Sapienza (John), Allison Barrett (Sean), Patrick McClellan (Abbi), and Douglas Hassett, and her great-grandchildren, Dana, Kristina, and Alyssa Sapienza, Ian, Gavin, and Victoria Barrett, Tyler Hassett and Travis Hammer, and Michael McClellan.
