Janet Carole (Purdy) Jennings, was born September 29, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Faye and Amelia (Sohn) Purdy. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1963.
On March 9, 1985, Janet married Randy Jennings in Boone, Iowa.

Janet took pride in nabbing a younger man and said people told her it wouldn’t work. Guess they proved them wrong!
She lived life to the fullest, from Woodstock to dancing and starting a snowball fight at The Roundup, to loving and caring for her family, creating memories and traditions especially around Christmas. So loved by her grandkids, her license plate wore her nickname “Gram Cracker”. Janet was fierce, feisty, and funny, always there to defend you or to “beat your a.. , hard” if you needed it. She loved camping and cooking but most of all, loved her family and beloved dogs.
Left to cherish her memory. . . her loving husband, Randy of Ogden; her four beautiful daughters, Juanita Henry of Dayton , Crystal (John) Gregerson of Jefferson, Billie Jo Hanson of Boone, and Penny Jennings of Ames; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; her dogs, Gypsy and Karmella; and a host of other family and friends whose lives she touched.
She’s having a reunion in Heaven with her mom and dad, Amelia and Faye Purdy; infant son, Bobby; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ed Lortscher; her dog, Nojo; and many more family and friends greeting her at the gates.
