Christopher Brian McDonald, 55, of Springfield, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center.

Christopher was born on October 2, 1963, in Springfield, the son of Harold Elmer “Bubby” and Christine Dolores Cox McDonald.

Christopher graduated from Pleasant Plains High School. He was previously employed with SIU School of Medicine and with St. John’s Hospital as a respiratory tech assistant for 10 years. Christopher loved animals and was known for his comical and funny nature. He was an avid boxing, football and baseball fan especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shannon Margaret.

He is survived by his sister, Irma (husband, Jeff) Knoles of Springfield; niece, Shannon Knoles of Springfield; nephew, Nathan (wife, Melissa) Knoles of Petersburg; great-niece, Taylor LaSanska; great-nephews, Mason Knoles and Devin LaSanska; three aunts, Violet Maberry, Carol Goacher and Betty Kluge; several cousins; and his beloved cat, Pandora.

Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.

Family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
