Samuel's birth place is listed on different documents as New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Ohio was not a state in 1799. I believe Samuel's parents were Silas Turner and Sarah Berry Turner. They came from Morris County, New Jersey. Samuel was the husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Seward Turner. Elizabeth's parents, Isaac Seward Jr. & Mary VanDuyn Seward, came from New Jersey. After Samuel died Elizabeth and her sons moved to Grant County, Indiana. Elizabeth removed her name from membership of the Bentonville Christian Church in 1852. Samuel and Elizabeth were my great great grandparents. Their sons were, Wilson, William H., Samuel Jr., (my great grandfather who married Lucy Jane Dean), Joseph B. & John. There was another son but I don't have a name.
