She was born on August 10, 1949 in Ft. Madison to Alvin and Mabel Wedel Childers. Judy worked at Sheaffer Pen Company and later at the Daily Democrat. Judy loved poetry and writing short stories. She also enjoyed gardening and was a good artist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Patty and Deborah.
