Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Bill Sims and Dr. Cecil Sewell officiating. Private burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at White-Ranson.
Mr. Douglas was born August 30, 1942 in Kirkwood Mo., son of the late Samuel Farrel and Ruth (Edwards) Douglas. He married the former Mary Ann Dunn on December 28, 1967 and she survives. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Murray Sate University. He is retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Union City where he was a Engineer for over twenty years. Ray was also the co-owner of the former West Tennessee Manufacturing in Kenton Tn. and taught in the Engineering Dept. at UTM for ten years. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church Union City, where he served as both a Deacon and a Trustee. He was a former member of the Union City Rotary Club, served on the Obion County Industrial Development Board, and a member of Masonic Lodge #538 Union City.
He is survived in addition to his wife by two sons; Steve Douglas of Martin and Jim Douglas of Union City; several nieces ,nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Gene Douglas.
