Brenda K. Brown, 65, of Ottumwa, died at 3:45 p.m. July 15, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born October 5, 1953 in Excelsior Springs, MO to Robert Earl and Lola Grace Hale Arnold. Brenda married Philip E. Brown on June 17, 1972.
Brenda had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1992. She worked for 12 years in Human Resources at Ottumwa Regional Health Center and for 9 years at Denefe, Gardner and Zingg, retiring in 2019.
Brenda was a member of Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Philip; her children, Lisa (Michael) Langgin of Bloomfield, Matthew (Amy) Brown of Alburnett and Hannah (Jeffrey) Abbott of St. Louis, MO; 6 grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Christian, Brendan, Melanie and Alexander; her mother, Grace Arnold of Excelsior Springs, MO; her brothers, Rodney (Theresa) Arnold and Roy Arnold both of Excelsior Springs, MO, Joe (Pam) Arnold of Port St. Joe, FL and Paul (Donna) Arnold of Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Arnold Brown and her father, Robert Earl Arnold.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mel Kendall and Pastor James Altmaier officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salt Company or to the family to be designated.
