She was the daughter of Benjamin and Hannah Reynolds Babcock.
She was twice married. wife of Joshua Porter Randall and Harris Hopkins

HOLLAND PATENT, April 25. — Mrs. Minerva Hopkins died at the residence of her son, W.J. Randall in this place, last Friday morning of heart disease and other difficulties, age 71 years and 9 months.
The funeral occurred at her late residence Sunday morning.
She leaves only one child. She was an aunt of Mrs. John G. Williams, of this place. For over 30 years she was a resident here and was much esteemed. The Roman Citizen, Friday, April 27, 1888

Petersburgh — Mrs. Minerva Hopkins died suddenly Friday at her home in Holland Patent.
She was born in Petersburgh, where she lived for many years and where her sister, Amy Jones now resides.
Besides the sister she leaves one son, William J. Randall of Holland Patent and one brother, N.P. Babcock of Hoosick.
The deceased was seventy-one years old. Troy Daily Times, Tuesday Afternoon, April 24, 1888
