Agatha was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaufort where she helped with Vacation Bible School and many women’s activities. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Agatha enjoyed traveling with her husband while he was in the US Army, they went to Iran, Japan and throughout Europe.
She is survived by her son, George D. Merrell, III and wife, Rose of Kamiah, ID; daughter, Paula Merrell Butler of Beaufort; grandchildren, Joseph Merrell, Cassie Morton, Emily Butler, Patrick Culpepper; great-grandchildren, Zak Merrell, Bly Whaley, Abigail Merrell, Greyson Parker Merrell; special care giver, Clarice Arthur who served the family for 13 years; loving Gillikin first cousins, Mildred Piner, Nancy Davis; and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Myrtle Golden; husband, George Dewey Merrell, Jr., and grandson, Christopher Butler.
