Howard Odell Green, 87, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. Howard was born October 19, 1931 in Wharton, West Virginia and was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He was an Air Force Air Traffic Controller and retired after 27 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Dora “Peggy” Green; four children, Elwanda (Wayne) Johnson of Julian, West Virginia, Gregory O. Green of Tampa, Florida, Nicole (Marlin) Bigelow of Edgewater, Florida and Lorelei Densmore of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Eddie (Joella) Green of Melbourne, Florida; three sisters, Avis Leopold of Girard, Pennsylvania, Joan (Harry) Atkins of Palm Beach, Florida and Dolores Hiser of Ripley, West Virginia; brother-in-law, Bobby Mullins of Trenton, Michigan; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cledith and Opal Ellison Green and one sister, Evelyn Mullins. Celebration of Life will be 5 PM Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Dudley Funeral Home, 1108 N. Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach, Florida with Pastor Kennedy E. Jacobs, Sr., M.Div officiating. Military honors will be rendered by members of the American Legion Post #285, Edgewater. Visitation will be from 3 PM until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. Private cremains burial will be in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 378 Center Pointe Circle, Suite 1280, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32701.
