Jaime Garcia Jr.
October 8, 1993 - July 2, 2019

Jaime Garcia Jr. was on born October 8th, 1993 in Fresno, California to Jaime Garcia Sr and Angelina Loredo. He joined his sisters Raquel and Valeria, and his only brother Jesus was born exactly five and a half years later. Jr, as he was known to his immediate family, earned his wings on July 2nd, 2019 at the age of 25.

Jaime was diagnosed at the age of 5 with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy and at about age 7 he began to use his wheelchair full time. Despite his diagnosis, Jaime was treated like any other child. He attended Tarpey Elementary where he joined school plays and excelled in his studies and was accepted into the gifted and talented program to no one's surprise.

He had a quiet yet determined demeanor that helped him excell at any endeavor he set his mind to. This continued throughout his educational career at Buchanan High School where he participated in the robotics team and continued to partake in advanced courses. After much hard work, he became an even bigger pride and joy when he became the first person in his family to finish college as he crossed the stage to receive his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing at Fresno State.

Never one to let life slow him down, Jaime had many interests. He loved to travel and see new things wherever he went, Jaime wanted to experience it all and his father Jaime Sr. loved to oblige him. He loved going to new restaurants even though he was the pickiest eater you ever saw and only ordered the chicken strips while everyone else ate new things because he enjoyed the novelty of it. His stress reliever and guilty pleasure was art. Jaime loved to create and paint as best he could using whatever medium was available to him. One of his more creative pieces was a painting he did using a remote controlled car.

Through all the doctor's appointments, schooling and church, Jaime still found time to pursue two of his greatest passions, playing Yu-Gi-Oh at the Bullpen with friends on Friday nights and playing power soccer as a goalie and founding member in the Central Valley Ghostriderz. These passions and the strong friendships he made kept him going through the latter part of his life, whether it was driving down to LA with his father and friends for Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments or driving up north to San Jose or Berkeley for power soccer tournaments. His love of life showed in everything he did.

Jaime Jr. is survived by his parents Jaime Garcia Sr. and Angelina Loredo, siblings: Raquel Berenice, Valeria and Jesus. brother in law: Jonathan Williams, his only nephew, Julian Williams, his Aunt and Uncle, Maria and Roberto Garcia and their daughters Julisa and Juliana Garcia. As well as countless more aunts, uncles and cousins living in Mexico that are heartbroken by his loss. He will be joining both sets of grandparents as well as his cousin Luisa Maria in heaven.

Jaime Jr. will be greatly missed by everyone he met. He was a remarkable son, brother, uncle, artist, athlete and friend. His many friends and the people he left behind will have wonderful memories to remember him always.
