.Elizabeth “Jean” Ballard, age 85 of Mayfield, Ky passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 3:30 PM at Baptist Health of Paducah.

She was a member of the St. Jerome Catholic Church. Her public working career included Garan’s Clothing Factory and cooking for Hill’s Drive-in. Her primary job was to raise seven children and to do her part in keeping a dairy and tobacco farm running smoothly. Jean was always supportive of her 23 grandchildren…loved being present at all the births, Baptisms, weddings and showers. She recently said that her 45 great-grandchildren were her “sunshine”!

Mrs. Ballard is survived by her son- Thomas (Lois) Ballard of Fancy Farm, Ky; daughter- Diane (Wayne) Wilson of Fancy Farm, Ky; son- Paul (Jackie) Ballard of Milburn, Ky; son- Jimmy (Betty) Ballard of Kirbyton, Ky; daughter- Sandy (Larry) Anderson of Dexter, Ky; daughter- Lisa Ballard of Fancy Farm, Ky; daughter- Eva (Jim) Bowlin of Fancy Farm, Ky; sister- Dorothy Carrico of Fancy Farm, Ky; twenty three grandchildren- Stacy Ballard, Scott Ballard, Chris Ballard, Chad Wilson, Lance Wilson, Jerry Wilson, David Wilson, Cole Ballard, Caleb Ballard, Taylor Ballard, Damon Jennings, Angela Wilson, Kristen Hobbs, Charity Anderson, Travis Anderson, Ben Anderson, Amber Harris, Whitney Rupert, Mitchell Toon, Michael Morgan, Courtney Atkins, Joshua Bowlin, and Jacob Bowlin; 45 great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years - T.O. Ballard, Jr.; two brothers- Donald Riley and Jim Riley; parents- Aubrey & Wilma Garnett Riley.

Internment will be in ST. Jerome Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
