Word was received last week of the death of John M. Walker of Hollywood, Florida., a former resident of Toulon August 19,1976.
Mr. Walker was born December11, 1896 in Toulon, the son of George S, and Mary Morrison Walker
October 26, 1921 was married to Wilma Grubb of
Zanesville, Ohio, and in this union was born one son, Jack Walker, who preceded his father in death several years ago.
He is survived by wife, two sisters, Mary Walker of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Ted (Ethel) Griggs of Phoenix, Arizona, several nephews and niece, and cousin, Phillip Walker of Toulon.
He was preceded in death, by his parents, his son, Jack Walker and one brother, Roy Walker.
His body was cremated with memorial services in Hollywood, Florida on Monday, with later services in Zanesville, Ohio.Professional baseball player 1919-1921. Catcher and first baseman for the Philadelphia Athletics.
