He was born February 16, 1925 in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Charles Logan Wilson and Hazel Cooper Wilson. Even as a little boy, Gene ‘always wanted to be like Jesus, a carpenter and a preacher’. He was a member of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Pastor, Evangelist, and Teacher. He taught in the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a Director of the Planned Giving Department of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministeries.
