Janice K. (Brown) Patterson, 75 of Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2019, with her three daughters by her side.
Born January 12, 1944 in Ottumwa, IA., she was the daughter of the late Donald Evan Brown & Hazel La Verne (Price) Brown.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1962 and attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA. She worked for John Deere, drove a school bus for Ankeny Community Schools in Ankeny, IA, and gave swimming lessons in the summer. She moved to Las Vegas in 1990 and began a career in real estate in 1997.
She bought her "Tuscan Retreat" dream home in 2005 and turned it into a vacation rental for families, business events & small weddings until she finally retired from real estate in 2017. She found much joy in meeting & getting to know her guests that stayed at her "Big House" that were from all parts of the world.
She is survived by her three daughters Jodi Kay Patterson of Sparks, NV, Julie Ann Sheeder and her husband, Troy of Ankeny, IA, Jaime Lynn Halstead of Kirkland, WA and two grandchildren, Andrew John Sheeder & Kaylynn Ann Sheeder.
There will be no official memorial service. She will be cremated and a small family Celebration of Life will take place on July 13, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV.
