Mike was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School of Beckley, Class of 1984, where he was an active member on both the football and tennis teams.  He went on to attend West Virginia University and graduated in 1989, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was an avid concert go’er throughout  his life and one story remembered by many is when he jumped onstage during a Van Halen concert and played air guitar along side David Lee Roth.  He especially enjoyed the rock band Grateful Dead and followed them for many years.
