Mrs. Margaret Ann Fletcher, age 84 passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 in the Northbrook Healthcare & Rehab Center in Jackson. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Pittman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 15, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Her chosen vocation was being a homemaker, with a passion for cooking and baking. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, choosing a career of devotion to her family.

She loved the Lord, was a lifelong member and taught Sunday School for many, many years at Union Grove United Methodist Church. She was very active in the community and was a caretaker to many family members and friends during illness and times of trouble. Despite Alzheimer’s robbing her of her last 10 years, she remained pleasant, free of pain and was loved by many caretakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Harold Kelso, Sr. and Margaret Cozart Kelso, one brother, James Harold Kelso, Jr and one great grandson, John Rob Byrd.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack Fletcher, three daughters, Phyllis Pritchett (Lee), Peggy Byrd (Jerry) and Susan Hinson (Ricky), eight grandchildren, Carl Byrd, Tiffinie Henry, Mary Margaret Chester, Rob Byrd, Bryan Byrd, Holt Pritchett, Jessica Chaney and Maggie Reinhard and sixteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Carrie McCage, 2305 Key Corner Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 713 S. Mendenhall, Memphis, TN 38117.
