Mrs. John Aalpoel, Sr., 76, of 102 W. Brown St., Waupun, died this morning at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Born May 6 1897, in the Town of Alto, she was the daughter of Eibert and Elizabeth Brookhuis Flier. The former Dena Flier was married on Oct. 27, 1922, at Waupun. After the marriage they farmed in the Waupun area until Mr. Aalpoel retired in 1957 and they moved to Waupun. He died Aug. 22, 1959. Mrs. Aalpoel is survived by two sons, John Jr., of Waupun and Edward of Brandon; two daughters, Mrs. Ruben Schouten of Waupun and Miss Johanna Aalpoel at home; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Henry Flier of Waupun; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Aalpoel and Mrs. Garret Vande Streek both of Waupun. Two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church, Waupun, where Mrs. Aalpoel was a member. The Rev. Donald Boss will officiate and burial will take place in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun.
