Kimberly Saundra Shaffer was born on August 15th, 1960 in Seoul, Korea and passed away July 3, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 58.

Kim was placed on the doorsteps of Holt Orphanage in Seoul, where she was taken in to prepare for her forever family. Heber & Catherine (Shoemaker) Shaffer, of Oklahoma City, OK who had been told they would not be able to have any children of their own, found Holt International Adoption program & was told about Kim. In January 1961, she was brought by plane to Portland, Oregon where Heber, Catherine and their oldest adopted son eagerly greeted her and brought her home. She was raised with her 4 siblings in Oklahoma.

In 1983, She joined the US Navy & began her studies and training for Operation Room Technologist, where she found her passion and love for the medical field. She served her 4-year term and continued to work as an OR Tech until Spring of 2019, when she had to quit due to health reasons. She worked many years in Oklahoma before taking a traveling OR Tech position which led her to Colorado, California, and Hawaii where she stayed for several years. She returned back to Oklahoma in 2018, where she resided until her death.

Kim loved to cook & bake. She loved family and friend gatherings that always involved yummy food! She adored her son, nieces and nephew and made all holidays and birthdays fun. You could find her in the kitchen cooking up a good dish, or test tasting the homemade ice cream at the family cookout. Kim loved trying new restaurants, and often invited friends or family to join her. She loved to travel and saw many fun places over the years. Kim had a knack for buying special, unique gifts which often included a gag gift for one of her brothers/sisters or a toy never seen before for her nieces and nephews. If Kim found out you collected a certain thing, she made sure you had every possible item for that collection while she loved collecting unique earrings from different places she visited. Kim loved giving to others whether at work or with friends and family. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Kim is survived by her son, Christopher Norton of Colorado. Her two brothers, Carl & his wife Mollie, of Meeker, and Craig & his wife Debbie of Guthrie . Two sisters, Kathleen Schlosser of McKinney, TX, and Karolyn Stewart of Mustang. 3 Nieces, Cynthia & husband Derek Simmons, of Arbovale, WV, Ladonna Shaffer of Norman, and Tiffany & husband James Cole, of Guthrie..
