Bonnie McElyea Brooks passed away Monday morning, July 8, at Providence Assisted Living in Batesville, MS. Bonnie was the widow of Jack Brooks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 1:00. Dr. Paul Middleton will officiate the service.

Bonnie was born May 19, 1933 to the late Albert Charles McElyea and Girtie Haynes McElyea in Clay County, AR. She worked as a receptionist and administrative assistant during her lifetime. When Bonnie was younger she loved to travel. She was always fond of the outdoors and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Bonnie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

The family she leaves behind to cherish her precious memory includes her children, Cynthia Middleton (Paul) of Batesville, Jack Brooks, Jr. (Deronda) of Olive Branch, and Patricia Cupp (Vince) of Sardis; one brother, Lonnie McElyea (Judy) of Eudora; 4 grandchildren, Lauren Middleton, Ashton Brooks Winstead (Tyler), Erin Brooks, and Jonathan Middleton.
