Behind every good man is a great woman and that is the case of Juanita Joanna Busch Grow, who at the age of 87 years went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2019 at her home on the Grow Family Farm in Williamstown, WV with her daughter by her side holding her hand.
Juanita was a gifted seamstress, cook, loving and dedicated wife, wonderful mother and faithful servant of God. She was as much a caretaker of the land as any of the family members, mowing the grass and handling any and all chores related to the hay harvesting each year. She was proud to be a part of the Grow Family Farm where she stood beside her loving husband Eugene and daughter Tiana. In 2007 the Grow Farm was awarded Conservation Farm of the Year at the district and area levels and placed 3rd in the State.
In her earlier years, she worked at Sears-Roebuck in Parkersburg, WV managing the candy counter.
Juanita loved watching athletic competitions, especially for WVU and WHS where she always hoped to have a top row seat in order to see the whole floor and field.
Juanita was born in Parkersburg, WV on November 26, 1931, the daughter of Eber Newton Busch and Freda Owens Busch. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1951, met the love of her life in 1952 and married Eugene Ashby Grow, Jr. in 1953. They enjoyed 57 years together until Eugene's death on June 9, 2011.
She is survived by her loving daughter Christiana (Tiana) who resided with her at the family home. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, friends and church family members from Burnt Hill United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph Newton Busch, Eber Graham Busch and John Arthur Busch and sisters, Elizabeth Owens Busch at infancy and Jule Evelyn Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 with visitation one hour prior at Burnt Hill Methodist Church, 304 Burnt Hill Road, Williamstown, WV 26187 with Rev. Ed Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Burnt Hill Cemetery and a reception will follow at the fellowship hall.
