Thursday, January, 24 1889

STOFFER.--Mary E. Stoffer died at Pierce City, Mo., January 17, 1889, in the twenty-ninth year of her age. Deceased was a daughter of George W. Myers, this place. She was born near Crawfordsville, Ind.; came to this place with her parents about 13 years ago. Eight years since she was married to Henry Stoffer, something over three years ago, she went with her husband to Kansas, stayed there two years, and last winter returned to Macomb. In May last she was taken with a severe cold, her throat became badly ulcerated, and ere long her lungs became affected. In the spring she went back to Kansas, hoping to regain her health, which was extra good there, but failed. From Kansas she went to Pierce City, Mo., where her husband had moved, and there declined until death released from all pain of body and mind. Her remains were brought to Macomb, and Monday of this week were buried from the residence of her brother, A. L.[sic] Myers, on North Lafayette street. She leaves, besides her husband, a little child three years old.
