Canton – Frank L. Barton, age 72, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
Mr. Barton was born March 28, 1943 in Transylvania County to the late Mint Barton and the late Kimley Fowler Barton. He had made his home in Haywood County for the past 40 years and was a self-employed truck driver. Frank was proud to call the mountains his home and he enjoyed spending time fishing and taking care of his dogs. Mr. Barton was a friend to many and he loved his family deeply. His memory will be cherished forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Sue Haynes Barton, who passed away January 16, 1998, his daughter, Queitha Barton and his brothers, Earl Barton and Billy Barton.
Surviving are his son, Wes Barton and his wife, Kristin Barton of Canton, two grandchildren, Bethany Barton and Nick Barton; a sister, Frances Maybin of Idaho and a brother, James Barton of Brevard and also many friends.
A gathering of Frank’s family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton.
