William Jackson “Jack” Lindsay, born June 8, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on July 9, 2019 after a long illness. He was 81 years of age.
Jack grew up in Houston, being raised by his parents David Lindsay and Sallye Wray. He was born with Spina Bifida, and spent many of his early years suffering from related illnesses. Doctors never believed he would live long enough to see his children grow up. He defied them all, living a long life and defeating challenges as they came along. He married his high school sweetheart Nancy L. Johnson in 1960, she was his true soulmate. They lived in College Station, Diboll and Lufkin, Texas before raising a loving family together at their Quail Valley home in Missouri City.
Jack graduated from Texas A&M as a proud member of the class of 1960, his TAMU loyalty continued as a member of the 12th Man Club. Knowing what an honor it would be to serve in the Corp of Cadets he made that effort, but was told his physical disabilities would make it impossible to even put on the boots - so he had boots custom made, and he was able to serve with dignity and determination. He took it as simply one more challenge to overcome.
He truly enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his best friends. He experienced many adventures while pursuing these hobbies and had lots of interesting stories to tell.
Long after his very successful career in banking, as Senior Vice President at River Oak Bank and Trust, and later moving to and retiring from Comerica Bank in Sugarland, Tx., he was still close to his many friends and business associates from his 50 years of business in Houston. He survived the booms and busts of oil, construction, technology and real estate, and had many good and loyal friends at the end.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Nancy L. Johnson in February, and is survived by his loving family; son, David and his significant other Wendy, daughter Laura Michalik and her husband Brian; grandchildren, Brandon & Carson Michalik; sister and brother-in-law, Larissa Lindsay and her husband Stuart Bailey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene & Jalene Johnson.

Funeral service and burial will be conducted on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9am, Funeral services start at 10am and the burial will be at 11am.

Jack will always be loved and remembered by his family and friends. And, as he requested, will be buried between his mother and his wife.
