MRS. JOHNNY D. PURSER DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER IN TENN.
Funeral services were held in Sardis Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock for Mrs. Johnny Donaldson Purser, 81, widow of the late H. J. Purser, of Lumber City R-2, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Dugger in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Saturday after a short illness. The Rev. George W. Fields, the Rev. J. D. Corbett and the Rev. C. A. Morrison officiated.
Pallbearers were Milton Smith, Hilton Dixon, Willis Warnock, Truett White, Murray Adams and Otha Maddox.
Honorary pallbearers were C. R. Dixon, Roy Mims, Kelly Sears, R. W. Windham, R. J. Smith, Arthur Mitchell, J. N. O'Quinn and Howell Mitchell.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charlie Dugger, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Mrs. Ruby Carter, of Thomasville and Mrs. J. W. Barlow, of Macon; five sons, J. R. Purser, of Navarre, Ohio; H. R. Purser, of Lumber City; W. O. Purser, of Alamo; C. D. Purser of Daytona, Fla., and Miles Purser, of Jesup.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Thomas Funeral Home of Hazlehurst in charge of arrangements.
