Joyce Maurine Ashlock Newton, 78, of Sherman, TX died Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Panhandle, TX. Burial will follow at Panhandle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Panhandle, 208 Main.
Joyce was born August 9, 1940, in Madill, OK to Lynn and Doris Ashlock. She owned and operated Bar J Grills for many years with Johnny Bonner. She was a great cook, seamstress, and mother.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Bowen and Debbie Lynch, both of Sherman; a son, Lonnie Bowen, of Amarillo; brothers, Lynn Ashlock, Jr. and Gary Ashlock, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Cole Suddeath, Sabra Wechsler, Chelsea Bowen, Cody Lynch, and Cade Lynch; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Lexie, and Brinlee.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers in Panhandle.
