Lester and Annie Springer welcomed Peggy, their first child, into their family on February 28, 1934 on their tenant farm in Hancock County, Ohio. Peggy was followed by her twin siblings, John and Jeanette in December of 1937. The family worked the farm together until their father took a job in the town of Findley, Ohio. Peggy graduated from Van Buren High School, in 1952. She met and married her future husband, Edward L Holmes in 1952. They lived in Glen Burnie, Maryland and raised three sons. Peggy was a dedicated and wonderful mother to her three sons. In addition, she had a successful career at Westinghouse Electric. She worked her way up from line worker to become the first female Divisional Manager at the Westinghouse BWI complex. Simultaneously, while being a working mother of three, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in 1983

Peggy married her second husband, Clyde “Bud” Green; on April 22, 1978 in Crofton, Maryland. They were a dedicated and loving couple, who entertained a wide circle of family and friends.
