Sheri Lynn Funkhouser Collins, age 41, of Moorefield, WV, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. Born on October 9, 1977 in Petersburg, WV, she was the beautiful daughter of Walter “Skip” and Wreatha Funkhouser of Moorefield, WV and Carolyn and Dalton “Bun” Carr of Rig, WV. She was preceded in death by her infant brother; maternal grandfather, Elmer “Slim” George; and paternal grandparents, Tim and Helen Funkhouser.
Surviving along with her parents are her four precious children, Harley Weatherholtz, Remington Funkhouser, Kalin Collins and Easton Funkhouser all of Moorefield, WV; one brother, “Little” Gary Ecker of Petersburg, WV; one step-sister, Valerie Riggleman of Morgantown, WV; one step-brother, Eric Riggleman of Wardensville, WV one special grandson, Keegan Weatherholtz of Moorefield, WV; maternal grandmother, Elva Sue George VanMeter of Moorefield, WV; and several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
Sheri passed away due to complications after a long, hard fought battle with drug addiction.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rig Civic Center, Rig, WV with Pastor Russell Webster officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SOME, 710 Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 with notation to Maya Angelou House in the memo section of the check or on-line at www.some.org.
