Richard Lynn Strickland 68, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Spostsylvania Medical Center. He was born on June 1, 1948 in Gordonsville VA., and was a retired technician with the federal government and a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood Huston Strickland.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife; Elaine Melodie Woodford Strickland, of Fredericksburg, his mother; Joycelyn McGee Strickland, of Fredericksburg, a daughter; Melissa Lee and Husband Greg of Stafford, a son; Matthew Lynn Strickland and wife Maria, of Fredericksburg, two sisters; Sandie Gayle Mason and husband, Roger of Woodbridge, Patricia Ann Alt and husband Joseph, of Alexandria, and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at on Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Salem Baptist Church in Fredericksbug. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Pastor Dale Sealy will officiate.
