As the oldest of six children she learned at an early age how to care for little ones and without exception adored the younger brothers and sisters. As she became a mother of six, she never lost that quality of care. In the many years of working outside the home, she served as a waitress, caregiver and sales lady at the Brinkley Walmart.
In 1946 while working at Scott's Store in Rich, Charlene met a handsome young sailor who had come home from the Navy. Billy was from the nearby town of Monroe and after a short courtship, the two were married in July 1947. In June of 1948 they welcomed the first of their six children into the family.
Without a doubt she loved all of her family to the moon and back, the large display of family photos in her home gave great testament to that fact. To make her smile and light up was to tell her how pretty or handsome her grand kids were. A lady of great faith and love for her Lord and Saviour, Charlene was a faithful member of the First Assembly Of God Church in Brinkley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Billy Ray Morris, son-in-law, Scotty Vance, brother, Charles Fowler, and sisters, Laverne Troy and Irene Henard.
