Marjorie Ann "Marjie" Meier, age 72 of Adams, Minn., died Monday, June 25, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Marjorie Ann Kellogg was born to Robert and Agnes Mortenson Kellogg on Dec. 17, 1934 in Forest City, Iowa. She graduated from Adams High School in 1952. On June 28, 1953, Marjie married Gerald Meier at the Marshall Lutheran Church. She graduated from Winona State University with a degree in music and psychology. She lived her entire life in the Taopi and Adams area.

Marjie was employed by the Adams/Southland School District for many years and later started her own business, Night Owl Press. She also served as the church organist for the Little Cedar and Marshall Lutheran congregations and conducted the Junior and Senior Bell Choirs. She volunteered countless hours for county and local organizations, including 4-H, the Mower County Fair, Historical Society, Genealogy Society, Prairie Visions and the Shooting Star Trail. Her talent as a gardener was enjoyed by the Adams Clinic and Nursing Home from many years. Marjie authored local historical books for the cities of LeRoy, Adams and Taopi and was also known as the "Prairie Hen" for the LeRoy Independent.

Marjie is survived by her husband, Gerald Meier of Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Rhonda Meier of Wylie, Texas; daughters, Lorrie Meier of Austin, Penny Meier of Plymouth, Minn.; grandchildren: Nicole Luong of Wylie; Lance Milner of Dodge Center, Minn.; Nate Mazal of Seattle, Wash.; Paige Mazal-Meier of Plymouth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mort and Marlene Kellogg of Taopi, Minn.; Jim and Brenda Kellogg of Taopi; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marjie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Kellogg; grandsons, Drue Milner and Peter Meier; and nephew, Randy Kellogg.

She is loved and will be missed by her family and many others.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with Rev. Shari A. Mason officiating. Interment will be at the Marshall Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Adams Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. There will be no reviewal at the church. The family prefers memorials.

Organist will be Pat Hinz. Honorary bearers are Eric Kellogg, Edward Kellogg, Luann Kellogg, Lynn Slavin, Scott Kellogg, Becky Kellogg, and Cindy Krull.
