Marie Charlotte Anderson, nee Lonn, was born in Flisby, Jonkoping Ian, Sweden, January 21, 1842.

December 29, 1863, she was united in marriage to August W. Anderson. They arrived in America in 1867 and spent four years in Altona, Ill., coming to this community in 1871. To this union in holy wedlock, ten children were born, six of whom are living: Mrs. Ida Sophie Walline of Omaha, Nebr., Carl Oscar of Viola, Claus Albert of New Windsor, Gustaf Emil of Swedona, Frank Edward of New Windsor and Henry Cornelius of Manleus, New York. Besides her children she leaves to mourn 27 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one brother, Frank Lonn, of Holdredge, Nebr. Mr. Anderson passed away Feb. 12, 1909.

Mrs. Anderson has been a patient sufferer since April 2, 1922, when she fell and broke her hip. She has been bedfast since that time. She always seemed cheerful and had a confident faith in her Lord, to whom she prayed that He might come soon. She was ill only about five days, when she developed pneumonia and passed away at 6:30 a. m. Tuesday, December 11. At the time of her death she was 86 years, 10 moths and 19 days of age.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, December 13, at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the Lutheran church, Rev. Carl G. Okerbloom officiating. The service of song was rendered by Mrs. R. V. Peterson, who sang in Swedish, "We Dwell Not Here." Mrs. A. D. Fernow of Woodhull and Mrs. Elder Johnson sang to duet numbers, "Where He Leads Me" and "Rock of Ages." The casket bearers were Everette Nelson, Harold Anderson, Lawrence Anderson, Cecil Baxter, Oscar Leaf and John Anderson. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Anderson has been a faithful member of the Lutheran church and was always happy to have her pastor come and read to her God's Word and pray with her. She will be missed in her home and in our community.
