Mrs. Brenda Faye Pate, age 53, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, Oct. 6, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness. She had resided in Lake City all of her life, was a homemaker and attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed outdoor activities, spending time with her family, playing softball, camping and fishing. She was preceded in death by her father, Fletcher Russ. She is survived by her husband, Randall Eugene Pate of Lake City, Florida: Her daughter, Brandy Doris Pate of Lake City, Florida: Her son, Shawn Ovie Russ of Lake City, Florida: Her mother, Linda Starling Harris of Lake City, Florida: One sister, Melissa Susan Russ of Lake City, Florida: Two brothers, Fletcher Baleno of Lake City, Florida and Marshall Raye Russ of Wellborn, Florida: Two grandchildren, Lealand Steven Eugene Piercey and Logan Drake Russ: Niece, Melissa Simpson Carney: Two nephews, Bobby Simpson, Jr. and Chase Russ: close friend Amy Buchanan.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Pate will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Steele, Pastor of Huntsville Baptist Church, officiating with a eulogy rendered by Mr. Johnny Starling. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida.
