George Clayton Brogdon
MAY 28, 1934 – JULY 3, 2019

George Clayton Brogdon, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away after a courageous fight with pneumonia on July 3, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas on May 28, 1934 to Francis Clarence and Florence Ferol Brogdon. He is survived by his daughter and namesake, Georgia Anne Brogdon of Houston and granddaughter, Ashley Christina Sanchez of Lancaster, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty 'Jean' Brogdon; daughters; Deborah Jean Brogdon Sanchez, Tracy Lee Brogdon Tiller and Tina Lynn Brogdon and his parents. In 1970, George and Jean moved their family to Midway, Texas where they lived for 46 years. In 2016, he and Jean moved to Fredericksburg, Texas where he resided until he passed away. He was a corporal in the United States Marine Corps, a Houston Police Motorcycle and Vice Officer, owner of The Madison County Patriot newspaper in Madisonville, Texas, a cattle rancher, a pilot and retired as a Real Estate Broker with his loving and devoted wife, Jean. He was also a former president of the Madisonville Noon Lions Club, a former Commander of the Madisonville VFW Post #84 and a lifetime member. He loved telling stories, jokes and he never met a stranger. He belonged to the Honda Goldwing Riders Association, Caltex Motorcycle Club and the Blue Knights. He and Jean traveled the United States for many years by motorcycle. As a lover of motorcycles, George owned 48 Harley Davidson Motorcycles in his lifetime.
