Augusta Erickson emigrated from Sweden and met Swan Nels Lindell in Kansas, where they married in 1875. Shortly after, they settled in Sedalia, Missouri, USA in 1875, then moved West toward Oregon and Washington after five of their children were born in Missouri.

Augusta and Swan had at least 6 children:
Selma L. Lindell, b1875 and married Edw S. Frost
John Edw b1880 and died 1947 in Washington
Anna Mary b1882 and died 1972
Ella b1887 and died 1983 in Seattle
Ida May b1892 and died 1984 in Seattle
Otto A. b1895.

Two of the Lindell daughters, Anna and Ida, married Stockham brothers, whom they met while residing in Washington State. Augusta and Swan Nels had ties to Asotin, Washington; Clarkston, Washington; Lewiston, Idaho; and Seattle, Washington.

Augusta and Swan Nels Lindell, as with many families, took part in the large migration to Canada from Oregon and Washington seeking land to homestead and farm in the early 1900's. Augusta and Swan followed the Stockham, Twadell, Cannon and several other families to Canada. Cousin Edith said they arrived in Loverna, Canada in 1914. Some of the family came back to Washington, and continued to go back and forth between Canada and Washington State over the next 20 years.

Family notes say some of my families were in Montana before arriving in Canada. And some of the Stockham families were in Alberta as early as 1912. The years in Montana are unknown but family papers include several obituaries of those who died in Montana and Canada, which I will be reading after unpacking many boxes from moving mother!

Please feel free to contact me regarding any information on the Stockham, Lindell, Cannon, and Twadell families that migrated to Canada. Thank you!
