OBIT- STOKELEY FUNERAL HOME, West Point, Nebraska
Jane Anderson, 76, of West Point died Sunday, 3 February 2019 at Premier Estates in West Point. Funeral services will be 1:30pm on Friday, February 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Richard Bringewatt as officiant. Burial will be at the Beemer Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with family receiving friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.
Jane Dian Ludwig was born 13 May 1942 in West Point to Harry and Adele (Schmidt) Ludwig. She attended West Point District 28 elementary school, graduated from Concordia High School in Seward in 1960, and graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward in 1965. On June 4, 1964,
Jane married Wesley Daberkow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. The couple had five children. Jane remarried in 1984.
Jane began her career as a Lutheran school teacher in Nebraska and Indiana. Later, she attained her Certified Nursing Assistant, which afforded her the opportunity to work with her sister, Marian. She ended her career as a home healthcare provider, caring for many wonderful people. Jane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Jane was a great supporter of the military, including her membership to the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was very proud of her sons military service, also her daughter in law and son-in-law.
She also was a staple at the local Relay for Life and other cancer benefits. She enjoyed traveling, often to visit family. Jane was full of laughter and hugs, converting many strangers to friends.
Survivors include her husband, five children; and 14 grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Adele; her parents-in-law, Eldred and Marian Anderson; brother-in-law, John Anderson; and granddaughter, Mika Kaylen Daberkow.
In her words, 'We had a ball… Jesus, get ready, I am coming home.
