NUTTER FORT — Michael Anthony Cody, 24, of Clarksburg, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
He was born in Fairmont on February 9, 1995, a son of Allen J. and Jackie D. Cox Cody who survive.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Kelly Jo Cody; his parental grandmother, Arlena ”Ginga” Bashnett; his maternal grandmother, Ellen Cox; two uncles, Thurman Cox and his wife, Connie and Richard Cox and his wife, Judeen and two aunts, Lola Davis and her husband, Delbert and Ursel Yeater and her husband, Rex.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Kimberly Jo Cody.
Michael was a 2013 graduate of Liberty High School and was a general laborer working with Pipeliners Union. He played football at Notre Dame and Liberty High Schools and enjoyed dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, weightlifting and he also boxed at Tommy Thomas’ Gym. Michael was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.
Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2-8 p.m., where Catholic Funeral Rites will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Akila Rodrigo presiding. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
