Miranda Gail Price-Jones was born February 28, 1959 to the union of the late Mr. Early Joe and Ms. Lurlene Price of Jackson, Georgia.

Miranda Jones was an honor graduate of Jackson High School Class of 1977 which yielded her an academic scholarship to Fort Valley State University. She obtained both a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education Degree in Political Science during her tenure at Fort Valley State. Being an advocate for education and priding herself in being a life-long learner, Miranda continued her education and received and Educational Specialist Degree from Troy University in Alabama and later attained a Doctoral Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

During her matriculation at Fort Valley State University, Miranda met the love of her life, Henry Thomas (Bubba) Jones IV who she married in 1982. This union birthed two beautiful daughters, Mrs. Phallon (Irvin) Trice and Ms. Alma Jones whom she loved immensely.

Dr. Miranda Jones was a valued educator who obliged in the capacity of teaching and administration for 31 plus years. She was known for being a positive role model and mentor to colleagues, teachers, and students. Dr. Jones retired from education as the founding principal of Rocky Plains Elementary School in Newton County. She was a devoted leader that worked tirelessly to support her staff and ensure the academic achievement for all students who enrolled under her leadership.

Dr. Miranda Jones was a faithful member of the Friendship AME Church of Jackson, Georgia during her early years. She later joined Towaliga County Line Baptist Church where she actively served on the Deaconess Ministry and taught Sunday School. Miranda loved serving and worshipping God. She was a firm believer in God and valued prayer. Her hobbies included loving and spending time with her children and her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

Dr. Jones leaves to cherish and honor her memory: mother, Ms. Lurlene Price, sister Mrs. Vickie (Luther) Norwood, three grandchildren, Kennedi Ward, Khollen Ward, and Adrian (AJ) Barlow Jr., a special cousin Ms. Lillian Portis, Cousin. Sister Ms. Melinda Ellis, Uncle/ Brother Mr. Raynard (Vickie) Smith, brother-in-law Mr. Billy Jackson of Atlanta, of Atlanta Georgia, her Rocky Plains Elementary Family, Newton County School System colleagues, along with a host of loving family and friends.
