Mr. Barry Carter, age 77, of Roaring River, passed away, June 2, 2019 at his residences. Barry was born in Wilkes County on July 23, 1941 to the late George Franklin Carter and Wanza Cockerham Carter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Carter, an a infant sister, Patsy Ruth Carter.
He is survived by a sister, Jean Dyar of Elkin, brothers; Ted Carter and wife Shirley of Roaring River, Larry Dean Carter and wife Molly of Elkin, Frank Carter and wife Linda of St. Louis, special sisters-in-law: Tammy Deal and husband Ken of Winston-Salem, Lesia Fessenden of Elkin, Annette Prevette of Elkin, brother-in-law: Clyde Ray Hawkins of Thurmond, also several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., June 5, 2019 at Oak Level Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Wood and Rev. Mitch Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Carter family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019 at Oak Level Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
