Roger was born November 7, 1947 to Robert and Eleanor Blevins. He married Alice Powell on November 22, 1969.
Preceding him in death was his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents, his sister Patty, and his wife Alice.
Surviving are his brother Terry (Janice) of Washington, Illinois, his son Justin of Galesburg, his daughter Mindy (Kelvin) McCabe of Avon and his Granddaughters Katie and Khloe McCabe of Avon, several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.
Roger was reared and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1965. Roger was a US Army Vietnam Veteran, serving from October 27, 1966 to August 2, 1968 with an Honorable discharge as a Sergeant. He was a concrete finisher prior to retirement and belonged to Operative Plasters and Cement Mason Union Local 18. He was also a member of the Knoxville American Legion Post 749.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Linwood Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Following the services, a celebration of life will be held at the Knoxville American Legion Post 749, 1395 Henderson Road, Knoxville. All family and friends are invited to attend
In lieu of plant and flowers, the family is requesting that a memorial donation be given to Knoxville American Legion Post 749 in Roger’s memory.
